Preserving grains effectively

FONGIPROTECT is designed to prevent the development of fungi, moulds and mycotoxins that can occur in dry grains. Contamination depends on a range of factors, some of which are easier to control than others:

  • the climate, which is beyond our control;
  • the previous crop: the risk is higher after maize;
  • soil cultivation: reduced tillage practices can promote fungal development, for example when maize stalks are not buried;
  • varieties: some are more resistant than others to Fusarium, a fungal disease;
  • harvesting: combine harvester settings, and the quality of pre-storage and drying.

However, action can be taken during storage by using an effective preservative whose primary role is to protect the grain. Fongiprotect helps fight against the deterioration of grain quality.

Recommendations for use

FONGIPROTECT is applied to grains according to their moisture content, temperature and storage duration. The dose of antifungal preservative to be incorporated is determined based on the risk index, which may be moderate, very high or exceptionally high.
