The expert’s view
Fungal development is an insidious phenomenon: invisible at first, it can quickly become uncontrollable.
Fungal spores enable mycelium to develop: it consumes lipids and amino acids and releases CO₂ and water vapour. The impact on the nutritional value of the substrate is harmful, as 50 to 75% of lipids and 30 to 50% of amino acids are destroyed after 4 to 5 weeks.
This degradation can occur all year round and in all climates, but it is more difficult to control in tropical regions, during transport in sea containers, and also in farmers’ silos in spring and autumn.
The FONGISAFE and FONGIPROTECT ranges help block these degradation processes at the source, thereby extending substrate stability and ensuring good preservation.
