SALMOCCIDE
SALMOCCIDE is a powerful complex of organic acids and minerals, formulated to control the risk associated with contamination or recontamination by Salmonella spp. This powder or liquid acidifier is used in pig and poultry farming, either incorporated into feed or applied by spraying, to strengthen sanitary control, manage enterobacteria carriage and support digestive safety.
As a supplement to, or replacement for, heat treatment, SALMOCCIDE reinforces feed safety against enterobacteria through several actions:
- Feed decontamination through a bacteriostatic and bactericidal action on pathogenic germs
- Hygienisation of dry feed before ingestion by animals
- Securing digestion in the animal’s digestive tract

Controlling enterobacteria load
SALMOCCIDE has been specifically formulated to fight Salmonella contamination. Its combination of organic acids and minerals provides complementary actions: feed preservation and palatability, control of the bacterial flora in feed and in the digestive tract, and improved digestibility. The objective is to ensure sanitary safety and efficient feed utilisation for optimal performance.
The challenge of enterobacteria
In both pigs and poultry, enterobacteria contamination can lead to many consequences: digestive disorders, reduced feed intake, dehydration, mortality, and reproductive disorders. The acids in SALMOCCIDE have been specifically selected to help eliminate these bacteria and inhibit their development.
A dual action
SALMOCCIDE has a dual action.
Firstly, by contact, it acts directly on enterobacteria present in the feed, providing a preservative effect.
Secondly, in synergy with the animal’s natural acidification process, its active ingredients act fully at gastric level thanks to their undissociated form.

Recommendations for use
SALMOCCIDE is incorporated into feed according to the level of risk - low, moderate or high - of enterobacteria contamination:
- Powder 3 to 15 kg/t of feed
- Liquid 3 to 6 kg/t of feed
