- Safety: enables the decontamination of seeds and oilseed meals that have tested positive for certain pathogens.
- Economic benefit: limits the financial losses associated with destruction and non-marketing of goods intended for animal feed.
- Social and environmental impact: prevents these raw materials from being wasted after release testing confirms they can be placed back on the market.
How the intervention works as part of the VITALAC service:
- Provision of a trained on-site team to organise the intervention: treatment and monitoring.
- Preparation of a prevention plan to ensure operator safety.
- Coordination of the intervention to ensure a forward-flow process from a dirty area to a clean area, which is essential for successful treatment.
- Coordination with accredited laboratories and official sanitary authorities to carry out and validate release testing.
- Specific recommendations and dosage rates for the formula best suited to each type of substrate.
