Optimising milk production while ensuring animal welfare: this is the objective we share with the farmers who place their trust in us. At VITALAC, we support each farm with tailor-made technical solutions and rigorous monitoring to meet the day-to-day challenges encountered in the field. Through a personalised approach and close collaboration with farmers, we help them improve their performance sustainably.

A VITALAC customer for five years, GAEC Ar Maneriou first discovered the company during an open day. Since then, a relationship of trust has developed with Anthony Simon, technical sales representative, and Philippe Arzul, ruminant veterinarian-nutritionist at VITALAC, who provide annual monitoring.

A collaboration focused on performance

This relationship is based on a shared vision: innovation and the constant pursuit of performance.

Their collaboration has also led to concrete results: continuous improvement in herd performance, perfectly controlled feeding, and a proactive approach to ensuring cow health and welfare.

Thanks to VITALAC products, the farmer has observed a steady increase in milk production per cow. This key benefit demonstrates the effectiveness of the solutions implemented.

VELBOOSTER: essential support for calving

Among VITALAC’s flagship products, VELBOOSTER plays an essential role at GAEC Ar Maneriou. Used to prepare cows for calving, this product helps ensure a good start to lactation and reduces calving-related complications.

“It’s an essential product that I wouldn’t remove for anything in the world!” confirms Nicolas Cadiou.

Mobile footbath: an effective preventive solution

The integration of a mobile footbath into herd management has significantly reduced lameness issues. All cows pass through it once a week, supplemented by a monthly visit from the hoof trimmer for dry cows.

The use of Pediclean contributes to hoof health and animal longevity.

Strategic investments for the future

To optimise the farm and improve animal welfare, GAEC Ar Maneriou invested in a new building housing heifers and dry cows. This decision was motivated by:

  • the need to save time;
  • improved working conditions.

Confident in the outlook for milk prices, the farm decided it was the right time to take this step. Designed to provide optimal ventilation, the building ensures greater animal comfort.

Nicolas was able to finalise this project thanks to VITALAC’s technical advice: building ventilation, light levels, feed bunk space, minimum number of drinking points, and more. This support was provided by our ruminant experts.
